For those who always wanted to know who`s MILLER, here I am: Charly Mueller, General Manager of miller instruments and the "mother-company", MUELLER DESIGN GmbH.
Since 1984, the year we founded our company, we`ve been working on designing and manufacturing many different products made of fibre-reinforced materials. As you can see, I´m a musician and that`s the reason why we started to design our first graphite guitar in the middle of the nineties.
Of course, at this time already hundreds of guitar brands existed all over the globe and a lot of people thought that it wasn´t a great idea to indroduce one more brand.
Nevertheless, we already knew the great acoustic attitudes of carbon fibre and we had much experience in working with it. So we took the challenge and started to work on the first miller-graphite-guitar!
1996 we first showed the idea of a completely seamless and hollow graphite guitar at the MUSIKMESSE FRANKFURT. These days in Frankfurt encouraged us to go on. Especially the guys from the German magazine BASSPROFESSOR urged us to build a bass guitar in this system. We did it and that was a very lucky decision!
Since that days our models changed enormous. It`s really a kind of evolution that happened since then. Beside our complete-graphite instruments we also offer wooden bodies with a graphite neck. And our latest flame are the HEMP-instruments!
We already showed some hemp prototypes at the Musikmesse Frankfurt in 1998. At that time the main question was: "Can I smoke it?" Although there was a giant interest from the media like magazines and television we were not able to get the hemp models going.
In the meantime we got help from California. ABrownSoun is building very successful speakers with a HEMPCONE, the ToneTubbies, and so there is no longer any doubt that the hemp-fibres are a great stuff also to build guitars and basses.
The many requests from all over the world let us start again with hemp instrument. Now we proudly present the CANNAXE and the CANNABASS!
But that`s not all! In early 2005 we started to build guitar and bass cabinets - of course with ToneTubbies inside! And to complete the list we offer our own tube amp. Check it out!
